Safe Mode vs NSFW filtering?
Do I need the nsfw app if safe mode is on?

Safe mode is mostly for photos posted by authors who declare they post unsafe content. The plugin is for you to decide what you want to see. I used it to filter out everything talking a former American president at one point.in time .

I can see a comment from Mike. I am using an account at zap.dog like you are. Very mysterious.

Let me add another comment/question. We can test if everyone sees it.
@
mike
when both are enabled NSFW tages are displayed, if there is a keyword I filter I will expand if I care to see. What I am experiencing is with safe mode on and if it is an image then it will not display if it meets the safe mode criteria. Forcing the need to turn off safe mode. Doing so then invalidates NFSW app and everything is displayed.

I understand the confusion, though I think what you're missing is that you can click any individual censored image to view it in a separate window/tab - without changing your safe mode settings.

Ok, so for example if I have safemode on and NSFW tags with keywords. I will see the NSFW-VIEW block, if I click that it shows a link to the image. If I click that link it takes me direct to the source of the image. Where if safemode was off, the image is proxied through the server. Unless I'm totally missing something, of configured an item wrong.
I appreciate your help and your patience.

The image is always proxied through your server if permissions allow. The only difference safe mode makes is whether it is displayed inline or viewed in a separate tab (if you feel it's safe to do so). I guess what you're looking for is a way to automatically remove the opacity of the image if you click the n-s-f-w link to show the post (because you feel it's safe to do so). Please correct me if I mis-understood the request. Sure, that makes sense and it's literally a change of one line of code to do that. File an issue and I'll look into it. Or just do it if you feel confident enough.

That's exactly what I'm looking for.
I'll file the request, you don't want me messing with code
. Will also contribute to the community, walked through a migration/installation on rockylinux8 (RHEL). Deb was out of place lol as I'm doing nothing but RH these days it seems. Also modified the backup script to backup using rclone to nextcloud or pick favorite provider. Mike thank you again! Have an awesome evening/day!

I again can not see Mike's comment.
What is happening here?
Is this a basically programming issue or is the support hubzilla forum - server too small or it it a time zone thing?

Latest as in the pull for today? If so I tried it ans still same behavior, let me post what I see..
When I click the yellow display button I just get the white box. Can't click or do anything, when Safe Mode is off it displays fine but no NSFW roll up. I'm good with going full on, Unless I check feed during break and off color shit displays 99.9% political that will totally offend someone is line of sight...lol. This behavior happens on both Debian/EasyInstall or instance running on RockLinux8 to add more detail. I am using FF can have been able to duplicate this in Chrome.

I post an image and it works as expected. Possible I'm chasing a ghost with these MFr's. They are the most active on TL which is why I focus there. Thanks for the help and the cool software, this is 100% than over blown rails install. No offense to those who like rails.

Ah, I see. You're having issues when displaying "photo objects" vs "posts with photos". That will take a bit more work.

There's a fix in the core code in the dev branch. I'm not yet completely happy with the fix; but for my own reasons - it should work fine for your needs.
